WiredKids is part of WiredSafety, a 501(c) (3) charity and the largest and oldest online safety, education, and help group in the world. Since its formation in 1999, WiredKids has held its annual WiredKids Summit where children and teens share their expertise, views and accolades about the Internet and their favorite sites. Unlike most online safety meetings, the WiredKids Summit is entirely run by children and teens, in three separate panels.
In 2001, out of respect for the September 11th World Trade Center loss of Salvatore Zisa, the father of one of our New Jersey Teenangels, the Summit was not held.
